Israelis Causing a Massacre?!

For all those out there who think Israel is the bad guy in the recent escalation against Hamas, Here's the other side of the story...

I'm just curious: If an attack happens on US soil and the US knows who perpetrated that attack and counter-attacks and there are collateral casualties, would the US still not be justified in having carried out its counter-attack? Is not collateral damage an unfortunate consequence of war? For the record, Israel has been VERY careful to try as much as possible to avoid civilian casualties. When there are civilian casualties, Israel expresses regret. The Palestinians, on the other hand, when they INTENTIONALLY target civilians and are successful, give out candy and sweets to celebrate. When Israel accidentally causes civilian casualties, the world condemns her. When the Palestinians do so INTENTIONALLY, the world excuses it by saying they are an oppressed people.

Etc, etc, etc...
