Obama Turns Down VP Position...

Obama today ridiculed Hillary's notion that he should accept a position as her VP and run on the same ticket. And rightfully so. As he noted, HE'S winning! What planet is Hillary from that the second-place candidate (at least at this point in time) offers the first-place candidate the position of second fiddle?!

What's surprising me is that no one is suggesting the opposite: Perhaps, once Obama wins the nomination, he should offer the position of VP to Hillary. Then, the same thing I mentioned before would happen, but in reverse: Obama would (hopefully) be president for eight years, after which Hillary's nomination would be assured, allowing, potentially, for sixteen years of uninterrupted Democratic rule and giving the Democrats (assuming the country comes to and keeps it senses) ample time to heal the country of its Republican ills...

However, while it will help Clinton to have Obama as a running mate, it really doesn't do much for him to have her. There are plenty of other people (including John Edwards) who would be just as beneficial for balancing the ticket, where for Hillary it is specifically to get the enthusiasm from Obama's supporters.
