Good for the Goose...

Wow! There's so much happening politically, it's hard to know where to start. First, there's the subpoena to the White House. Then there's the White House's rejection, citing "executive privilege." That's a good one. I can't to see what happens on January 19, 2009. This is supposed to be Bush's last day in office. Think it will be? I sure hope so, but the Bush administration has trampled on the Constitution so much, at this point it's just an illegible, shredded piece of paper with no meaning to it whatsoever. Let's all just hope Bush doesn't cite "executive privilege" or "national emergency" (I'm sure his administration will find a way to make one up), or some other story so he can hold on to White House indefinitely.

Then, there's Congress' vote to give themselves yet another pay raise!! They are getting a "cost of living" raise of $4400, bringing their salaries to almost $170,000 a year. Gee, it must be nice to sit on your ass all year, accept political contributions and bribes from lobbyists who are only looking out for their own interest (yay healthcare industry!!), making sure some law get passed that are detrimental to their constituents, and some laws that would benefit us all tremendously (again, yay healthcare industry!!) remain nothing more than vague suggestions.

Final Note: Funny, how now that the Dems have their own version of Kenneth Starr in Leahy, the Republicans are complaining about how unfair all this "Democrat persecution" of the GOP is. Funny how good ol' Kenny wasn't even a member of congress, just a Republican lackey with no political standing and looking for pure Lashon Hara on Clinton (so, he had sex in the Oval Office with someone other than his wife; the job he did as president has nothing to do with that and didn't make him any less of a great president) just to make Clinton look bad, regardless of the amazing job he did in office. Even more funny how the person in charge of the committee investigating actual, political wrongdoings of the Bush Administration is actually a member of Congress who is sick, like the rest of us, of Bush's and Cheney's merry little trampling of the law while believing they are far above it.
