Bush Congratulates Obama on Nomination

Sound nice, right?

"President Bush congratulates Senator Obama," spokeswoman Dana Perino said after the Illinois senator scored a giant-killing win over New York senator and former first lady Hillary Clinton -- who refused formally to concede.

Bush "knows from personal experience that the presidential nominating process is a grueling one, and Senator Obama came a long way in becoming his party's nominee," said Perino.

"And his historic achievement reflects the fact that our country has come a long way, too," she said.

Bush, who backs Republican presumptive nominee John McCain to succeed him, also "wanted to congratulate Senator Clinton on her spirited campaign, and one that made history as well," said the spokeswoman.
Real nice, right?

Except for:
Perino said that she did not expect the president to telephone the Democratic champion, noting that then-President Bill Clinton had not telephoned Bush when he captured the Republican nomination in 2000.
Here, Bush had a chance to be the bigger person than Clinton, who did not call The Idiot to congratulate him, and call Obama to congratulate the first African-American on his nomination.

No. Instead, The Idiot in the White House decided to be petty and say since Clinton didn't call him eight years ago, he's not going to call Obama.

Schmuck.
