Mr. Governor

My father-in-law made a great observation a couple of days ago. We should honor the Idiot in the White House by calling him by the title of the highest office to which he was ELECTED.

Mr. Governor...

I wholeheartedly agree, but of course there are SO many other titles Governor Bush should, or rather does, have: The Idiot in the White House is my favorite.

Let's see: Usurper, The Evil One, The Chimp, The Chump...

So many titles, so little time...

He wasn't elected in '04?

Nope. They never allowed the recount in Ohio, and there are a few people serving time for it, but by the time it came out, it was already too late.

Further, even if the recount had come out in the Idiot's favor, he would have only been elected in 2004 because he stole the 2000 election.

It's going to be interesting in hindsight that we are not only living during the presidency of the WORST president in US history, but, if all goes well, we will also have the privilege of living during the presidency of the BEST president in US history. Hopefully... :)

Are you of the opinion that JFK was not elected in 1960?

In that case, whatever the controversy might have been, JFK won the popular vote by a slim margin. Bush did NOT, and Florida should NOT have gone to him in '00, and Ohio should not have gone to him in '04 (and there are people doing time because of Ohio in '04).

I agree that a cloud of illegitimacy hung over the 2000 election. That puts Bush in the same category as Hayes (who was referred to as "His Fraudulency") and John Quincy Adams. (Benjamin Harrison also lost the popular vote, but unlike the other three examples, there was no controversy surrounding the electoral results.)

The 2004 election is more comparable to the 1960 one, in that the winners clearly won the popular vote, but some questions about the electoral results remained, which the losers chose not to pursue.

I've often stated that Bush in '04 was elected rather than reelected. Or, as Al Franken put it, since he wasn't really elected the first time, he should be entitled to run a third time.

I've wondered myself more than once whether he would try to claim that as well in order to NOT relinquish power.
