Not in the Mood Lately

To blog, that is. Things are crappy. My weight situation still sucks and I can't get approved for surgery because apparently the $10,000 cap my policy imposes (which also sucks) just isn't enough for the hospitals and doctors. I just LOVE that medicine is all about the money these days and not about helping people get well.

Plus, business just SUCKS. I keep working on stuff and losing deals because the clients change their minds or are just looky-loos.

So, yeah, everything just all-around sucks right now. I'm sure it makes you hate-mongers out there happy that the kofer is doing poorly. :(

Not really. Can any of us help?

I wish. Can anyone come up with about $100,000 to start a kosher bakery here in Cleveland that'll put the other two to shame?

That's really what I want to do: bake and cook. I'm really good at it, and the restaurants and bakeries here are just shameful in how awful they are. One of the two bakeries is for sale, but the guy wants $370k for it, which is utterly ridiculous, especially considering his profit margin is quite slim. He's rich, bought the bakery some years back, and thinks because it's a "Cleveland Institution" that it's worth way more than it is, but that's what you get when dealing with arrogant rich dudes with wives who are high powered lawyers.

That, and get the surgery to put me on the road to health would be great.

Oy.

Thanks for reading, by the way. I do check your blog on occasion, but you haven't updated lately. How are things going?

Or maybe help writing a business plan. Or both (funding AND plan...).

Have you considered the Lap Band? It seems to be a little less expensive, and it is definately less invasive? I don't know if your insurance will cover it, though.

Selena,

You know me. I do research on the research, like we did before moving here. It's ALL too expensive.

I did find a pretty popular doc in Vegas who does the whole shebang, including hospital use, for just under $10,000 (which is the amount the insurance covers), but he doesn't really take my out of state insurance... :(

Sure! Give me a call. I know I owe you an explanation about the bride going around the groom thing! :)

Thanks for asking. We are getting somewhere and since the other team reads everything I write, I haven't been writing.

Barack,

You have hate-mongers?

Am Kshe Oref - A Stiff-Necked People said...

Oh, yeah. I've had people call me a Nazi because because I've denounced "gedolim." I've also had people really rip into me on other blogs (DovBear, for example) and happy to see I'm poor and fat. Isn't that lovely?

I'm so sorry to hear that. I wish I could cut and paste what it says in Likutey Moharan (Rebbi Nachman) about overweigh.

I hope Jews don't talk harshly to one another. Its a slippery slope that leads to callous hearts. sigh.
