Israel's Next Step Toward Calamity
US sets date for Mideast peace conference. Notably, this article's first paragraph reads:
Seven years after the Middle East peace process ground to a halt, the United States has invited leaders to an international conference next week aimed at paving the way towards a Palestinian state.It doesn't say toward peace between the fictitious Palestinians and Israel (fictitious because there is no such thing as a Palestinian; my mother, Jewish and born pre-1948 is more "Palestinian" than the vast majority of "Palestinians" out there). It says, rather, "...paving the way towards (note the bad grammar - it should say toward, sans the "r") a Palestinian State," with no mention of peace for Israel at all. Funny, that.
It's really amazing that Israel's Prime Minister, a bumbling idiot almost as stupid as George W. Bush (NOBODY is as stupid as "W"), hated almost unanimously by Israelis, has not yet been ousted. Better Prime Ministers have been tossed out of office for a lot less than Olmert's bumbling mistakes!
Well, we'll just have to sit tight and pray to God the Jews still have a homeland to which they can freely go after this is all over. :(

I understand how you feel, but wishing death upon another Jew, no matter how you feel, is simply not a Jewish thing to do. HaKadosh Baruch Hu does want the Rasha to die. He wants the rasha to do Teshuva. This is a very important part of Ne'eela at the end of Yom Kippur.

Actually, the response to your first comment was mine. Esther is my wife and apparently she had signed in to her account and I didn't realize it, so I accidentally posted in her name. But the comment was mine.
I don't disagree with you that Olmert is, to put it a bit more succinctly, an incompetent yahoo who is causing more damage than good, kind of like the idiot who's currently running the US.
And I know all about the halacha of "Hakam L'hargecha." And I am painfully aware of the damage caused by the Gaza withdrawal, which, by the way, was Ariel Sharon's stupid idea, not Olmert's; Olmert simply implemented his predecessor's plan. Had Sharon not become comatose, he would have implemented his own plan.
But Olmert has not himself killed anyone directly. The way the country works, and I'm not sure why this hasn't happened yet (as it did with Ehud Barak and Bibi), they should be recalling him. It's amazing to me that other PMs have been ousted for far less than the things Olmert is doing. But it doesn't mean you should pray for his death (and certainly, one should not pray for a painful death).
Believe me, when it comes to Israel, I'm VERY far Right Wing (not quite Nut Job status, but close). I hate the Israelis are capitulating to the "Palestinians." I hate that there is going to be another "summit for peace" that is obviously going to end in disaster. I hate that Abbas is considered an "elder statesman" when all he really is is a murderous terrorist. And I hate Olmert for being such a complete idiot who is either nuts, senile, or in the pay of the "Palestinians." But I still wouldn't pray for his death. Better to pray for the deaths of all the terrorists surrounding Israel rather than the death of one Jew...
