What Is Patriotism?

I think our idiot president has very much lost sight of this. Of course, I personally don't think he ever actually knew what it was. This man is an overgrown (physically) child with the mind of a pygmy (though that's being cruel to pygmies) who illegally took the White House and has, for the last six years used his position as Commander in Chief of the US Armed Forces to play soldier (probably some childhood dream finally come true since he was never really a soldier himself). Today, this mental pigmy called upon Americans' sense of "Patriotism" to have patience with the Iraq war, which, as we all know, has no end in sight despite the recent troop surge. Besides, if he was going to invade a country, it probably should have been Saudi Arabia, FROM WHERE BIN-LADEN ACTUALLY COMES!!

Mr. President, Patriotism isn't our troops fighting and dying in an illegal war fought with false information you and your administration manufactured in order to have an excuse to invade Iraq. Patriotism is having our troops get the hell out of there and back home where they belong, defending their own country in their own country and providing security for its citizens. Patriotism is not wanting our troops to die thousands of miles from home for no reason. Patriotism, on the homefront, is taking care of pressing domestic issues, like the failing economy, outsourcing of jobs, homelessness, universal healthcare for all your citizens, among many, many other matters.

So don't talk to us, the American People, about Patriotism. You, sir, are the least patriotic of us all by causing the murder of thousands of American soldiers in a completely unjustified war. You, sir, have shown you care not one bit about American domestic issues.

Patriotism is to a country, not to a person. If the person running the country is corrupt, as you have proven to be, we, the Patriotic American People, have the right and the obligation to depose you and your cabinet as corrupt and start over. In the words of the Declaration of Independence:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.


Happy Independence Day, Mister President. Perhaps if enough people make their displeasure known to you, you will remember what a Patriot really is and become one again.
