Another Great, even Prophetic, Quote from a Dune Book...

So, I'm in the middle of reading the entire Dune series (the newer ones by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson and the original six by Frank Herbret). The original Dune was great, as are the books by Herbert's son, Brian, and his friend Anderson. So far, I've made it halfway through Children of Dune. As anyone who has read any of these books knows, each chapter begins with a quote from someone somewhere during the history of the Dune Universe (which is quite long...). I just came across the following quote, which I found to be quite appropriate to how the US government has acted recently:

Governments, if they endure, always tend increasingly toward aristocratic forms. No government in history has been known to evade this pattern. And as the aristocracy develops, government tends more and more to act exclusively in the interests of the ruling class - whether that class be hereditary royalty, oligarchs of financial empires, or entrenched bureaucracy.
I especially like the the second one - oligarchs of financial empires. This is so very true of today's US government. The lobbyists, especially Big Business lobbyists, have essentially taken control of the government and one push their own agendas through, leaving everyone else behind without caring one bit about them.
