(I think it was a bit too convoluted--the other Indy films took a simple approach when dealing with otherworldly matters.) Before the first Spider-Man came out, SNL made fun of the idea of having Tobey Maguire star in a high-octane action adventure. He managed to do it so beautifully that I now have trouble imagining anyone else in the role. He pulled it off by embracing his nerdy oddness--he still is in no way a typical action hero. Shia did a good job as the greaser, but he's no Ford.Kylopodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06932528611103718373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32915027.post-51509324687514870672008-05-27T08:35:00.000-04:002008-05-27T08:35:00.000-04:00Well, you never know. Nineteen years! :)

George Lucas mentioned there may be a fifth, but that Shia Lebeouf will probably have the lead and have Indy come back in the same manner Sean Connery did in Crusade.

Personally, I'm just hoping for a second trilogy focusing on Indy with Shia as a sidekick, and THEN maybe pass the torch off to Shia...

I just LOVE Indiana Jones. I guess I had low expectations after seeing the Star Wars prequels and the fourth Die Hard, both of which contributed to my belief that you shouldn't return to an old series after a decades-plus-long hiatus. I suspect what made Indy work a little better was that they spent a great deal of time on the script.Kylopodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06932528611103718373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32915027.post-88315229863072404422008-05-25T12:41:00.000-04:002008-05-25T12:41:00.000-04:00I wonder what they thought of Last Crusade... :)An...I wonder what they thought of Last Crusade... :)

Anyway, I just saw the movie, and, while not as good as Raiders or Crusade, was still a LOT of fun! It depicted the Japanese fighting and killing Americans, and I loved this movie, because of it’s accurate portrayal of history. (I also like Clint Eastwood.) As for the Indiana Jones film, actually, if you studied history, in 1957 America, the communists were considered to be the “bad guys”, so I think the setting of this movie is very accurate and appropriate. Every movie needs a hero and a villan. Modern day communists should sit back, relax, and enjoy the movie. IT’S JUST A MOVIE!!! The guns in Hollywood are made of hard rubber.G. A.
